Through the Lens: Chronicles of My Homeland

Language is often seen as the primary tool for communication, allowing people to express their thoughts. However, I’ve come to realize that we each have unique ways of expressing ourselves, and for me, photography has been a powerful tool.

This PCE project is personal to me because it represents my journey as a photographer. I’ve created a website to showcase my country through my lens—offering a glimpse into how I see the world within my community.

When we think of storytelling, we might typically think of words. But how many iconic images from photojournalists do you remember? These photographs are often shared by media outlets but quickly become outdated as the news cycle moves on. As a reader, have you ever wondered about the photographer’s perspective when they captured those moments?

This website is a collection of photographs from my photojournalism career, capturing different moments in my country’s history. Using my old but trusted friend Canon 550D, I’ve documented these significant events over the years. Each photo has a story behind it, and through this project, I aim to share those stories with the people of Kazakhstan, offering a visual narrative of my experiences and the times I’ve witnessed.
