As climate change has became a heated topic in recent years, more people start to be aware of the significance of decarbonization and sustainability. However, not everyone knows where to start, despite being eager to help restore the environment. Therefore, my APP provides them with a good start for their decarbonizing journey. Specifically, the mobile APP I designed will help people track their recycling behaviors and the associated carbon dioxide reduction. It also creates an online environment, or an online community, where users can share their recycling and decarbonizing behaviors with others who have similar interests and work together to build a more sustainable world. In the meantime, the APP will also help people learn more about sustainability by including more knowledge on the multiplicative effects of individual behaviors and providing a collaborative learning environment/community.
The learning design process has been indeed challenging but rewarding for me, as it took me some time to finally get a clear direction on my project and content to include in my project, but it is also rewarding to see how much I have achieved. The design process is definitely not linear, instead including many back and forth, which was hard to deal with. However, as I looking back, it turns out to be what is necessary to achieve the current status of the project.
